Virtual Reality Space Mission

This one of a kind experience uses 360-degree virtual reality optic technology. As a precaution, we like to inform our visitors that Virtual Reality is not recommended for those who suffer from motion sickness, are pregnant, have high blood pressure, heart conditions, or epileptic symptoms.

Each person participating in this program must be at least 6 years old.

How do I reserve flight academy?

Contact the Group Sales Department at groupsales@patriotspoint.org or 843-881-5976 to reserve your group today!

What should I wear to my program?

Our educational programs take place in a variety of locations, between historic naval vessels. Please wear comfortable shoes and indoor/outdoor weather appropriate clothing. Your safety is VERY important to us so please hold onto handrails, watch your head, and do not run!

Who should I contact if I’m running late?

The main Patriots Point number is (843) 884-2727. If you are a day group, please contact our Day Group Coordinator (843) 971-5044 (M-F, 8-4:30). If you are camping with us, please contact the Camping Office at (843) 881-5933 (M-F, 8-4:30). The after hours Camping Office number is (843) 881-5937. For emergencies or if no one else is available, please call (843) 860-2345. This is a mobile phone answered 24 hours a day by a Public Safety Officer.

What should I do once I arrive?

If you are a day group, once you arrive on site our Flight Academy instructors will meet you where you park and walk you on board. If you are camping with us, please visit our overnight camping page for more details.

What should we do for lunch?

If you are a day group, you are more than welcome to bring a bag lunch. If the weather is nice, picnic tables are available. Food at the Sticky Fingers Snack Shack is available for purchase onsite or, through prior arrangement, they can prepare sack lunches. Lunch arrangements can be confirmed upon program registration.

What are the conduct expectations and responsibility of escorts/leaders?

All groups must be accompanied by an escort or group leader. In case of willful property destruction and/or theft, violators and group leaders will be held fully accountable. Any individuals who violate these rules will be asked to leave the ship.

Do you have a souvenir shop?

Of course! Located landside is our Ship Store, where you can find military memorabilia, books, apparel, local Charleston products and more. Don’t forget to stop by on your way out!
