Earn Merit Badges - Patriots Point
Scouts have an exciting, exceptional opportunity to earn merit badges during their overnight camping experience at Patriots Point.

Aviation Merit Badge - Part of Patriots Point Weekend Program
Classes take place aboard YORKTOWN and are included in your camping fees. Basic aerodynamics and flight controls are covered in the fifty minute class which includes the use of Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2. Campers get the chance to fly in a virtual cockpit of an F6F Hellcat on a combat mission while the class as a whole watches on a large projection screen.

After the aerodynamic and simulation portion of the class, campers will head up to YORKTOWN's flight deck to learn about catapult operations (launch of aircraft). Surrounded by some of the greatest aircraft flown by the Navy and Marines, the flight deck class concludes with the legendary F-14 Tomcat.
