Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, home of the USS YORKTOWN is South Carolina's most unique and memorable attraction. It appeals to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The message is presented in an interactive, hands on, respectful and engaging manner. Although our mission of honoring and educating never changes our options of meeting those goals is forever evolving.

Special rates are available to groups of 10 or more, every day of the week. Group rates vary depending on the age of the group members and if any tours are purchased.

The YORKTOWN Flight Deck, Hangar Deck and certain pier-level exhibits are accessible to those mobility challenges.

Patriots Point is less than two hours by motorcoach from Myrtle Beach, Savannah, or Columbia, and less than an hour from I-95.

Overnight Camping


Pack your gear! For more than 25 years, the Youth Overnight Camping Program on board the USS YORKTOWN is one of the nation's top education adventures.

Youngsters arrive and experience the majesty of the USS YORKTOWN, sleep in the berthing areas where the sailors once slept and learn about naval and aviation history.
Each camping package includes self-guided tours, meals, entertainment, and an Educational Program.

We offer many value oriented, fun and educational options to tour operators planning exciting student travels.

Choral and band performances, standards-based History and Marine Science programs and overnight stays onboard the USS YORKTOWN are only a few of the opportunities available for Student groups on board the Yorktown.

VIP Tours


Enhance your Patriots Point Group Experience with a memorable addition to your visit.

Choose from several engaging VIP tours that will show you aspects of the USS YORKTOWN that are not routinely available to visitors. You will take away special perspectives of your time here.

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Group sizes that can be accommodated for a guided tour are determined by the type of tour selected.

VIP Guided History Tour

Add $5 to admission price.

This is a guided tour of the Hangar Bay and Flight Deck. The tour lasts approximately one hour.

VIP ANCHOR Away Operation Tour

Add $7 to admission price. 90 min

This tour focuses on the function, purpose and operational design of the Yorktown, taking visitors throughout the USS Yorktown, focusing on the Hangar Bay, Flight Deck, Bridge, and the Anchor Room.

VIP People, Places and Working Spaces

Add $7 to admission price. 90 min

This tour focuses on the people who lived, worked and served our country during World War II. This tour takes visitors to areas around the USS Yorktown that showcase the various tasks and accomplishments of the men who served. Included areas are the Medal of Honor Museum, the Doolittle's Raiders display, the Apollo 8, the Avenger like the one flown by George HW Bush and the Hellcat where the heroic contributions of the Flatley family are showcased.

VIP Submarines, Destroyers and Aircraft Carriers, Oh My!

This tour focuses on the berthing quarters of the three vessels docked at Patriots Point. This tour highlights the tight quarters of the USS Clamagore Submarine, the USS Laffey Destroyer and finally to the USS Yorktown - designed to house 3000 men - visitors will see how function meets design in limited living spaces.

VIP Aircraft: Inside and Out

Add $12 to admission price. 120 min

This tour focuses exclusively on the various planes displayed on the USS Yorktown. The USS Yorktown has one of the best collections of Navy/Marine carrier-based aircraft in the United States. This tour gives visitors the opportunity to climb inside some of those aircraft. Your guide will take you through one of the Pilots' Ready Rooms for a short briefing and then see history up close and personal.

On this 2-hour tour, climb aboard the Vietnam-era Sea Knight on the YORKTOWN Flight Deck, and then pick three of the following popular tours to create your special visit:

Motorcoach Groups


Our goal is to be the most "Motorcoach Friendly" attraction in the Carolinas.

Let us prove it to you. We are located just minutes from downtown Charleston, I-26, and US 17 with clear and highly visible signage.

Parking is free for motorcoaches, with complimentary admission for the tour escort and driver. We have VIP and self-guided tours geared towards your group's interest.

Souvenir Photos


Take home the memory!

Add souvenir photos to your group reservation as an additional option and preserve the memory of your visit to Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown for years to come.

Each member of your group receives a 6 x 8" photo of the group along with an official Patriots Point photo folder. Photos are taken on-site and will be ready at the end of your visit.

Pricing is $3 per person.

Where do I go to pick up my tickets?
You can pick up your tickets at the ticket window, located next to the Ship Store gift shop. If you booked in advance, please have your order confirmation with you.
How do I pay for my tickets?
Paying for your tickets is easy. You can do any of the following:
  • Call before your scheduled group visit and pay by credit card over the phone.
  • Mail in your check to the following address:

  • Pay at the ticket window the day of your group visit; we accept all payments at the ticket window.
Please note that when paying for your group, it needs to be in the form of one payment.
How much is parking?
Parking is Free for all Motorcoach and school buses. Other vehicles will pay $5 at the entrance to Patriots Point.
Can I take photos in the museum?
Patriots Point encourages all guests and visitors to take as many photos and videos as they like, so they can relive their trip to Patriots Point. Please share your favorites with us online!
Where is the gift shop located?
The gift shop, Ship Store, is located near the entrance/ exit of the museum .
Where can my group eat?
Patriots Point has several dining options for your group:
  • We have two snack bars, one located on the USS YORKTOWN and the other at the entrance/ exit to the museum. The snack bars have a variety of snacks and drinks from which to choose.
  • In the CPO Galley, your group will experience lunch on board the USS YORKTOWN, as the men did back when the ship was operational. Your group will eat like the sailors once did while relaxing in a climate controlled room. The cost of this is just $9.00 per person all inclusive.
  • Patriots Point also has a wonderful picnic area located in the over-flow parking, which is a perfect area to enjoy your sack lunch.
  • Visit the Fighting Lady Café – full lunch menu with table side service. Open 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. View full menu.
How long does it take to go through the museum?
Please allow your group about two to four hours to get through Patriots Point.

What happens if it rains?
Patriots Point is open rain or shine, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM every day except for Christmas day.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final, though we try our best to reschedule your group for a later date if something comes up the day of your group visit.
