Patriotism. Honor. Character.
Lessons learned aboard the USS YORKTOWN
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, home of the USS YORKTOWN is South Carolina's most unique and memorable attraction.
It appeals to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The message is presented in an interactive, hands on, respectful and engaging manner.
Although our mission of honoring and educating never changes our options of meeting those goals is forever evolving.
Patriots Point is less than two hours by motorcoach from Myrtle Beach, Savannah, or Columbia, and less than an hour from I-95. Groups are welcome 7 days a week and we ask for a minimum of 15 paid attendance billed to a Master Account. Handicapped access is available to the Flight deck and the Hangar deck.
Group rates vary depending on the program chosen.
Our goal is to be the most “Motorcoach Friendly” attraction in the Carolinas.
Let us prove it to you. We are located just minutes from downtown Charleston, I-26, and US 17 with clear and highly visible signage.
Parking is free for motorcoaches, with complimentary admission for the tour escort and driver. We have customized and self-guided tours
geared towards your group’s interest.

Choral and band performances, standards-based History and Marine Science programs, overnight stays onboard the USS YORKTOWN, and scavenger hunts are only a few of the opportunities available for Student groups aboard the Yorktown.
Round out your group's active experience at Patriots Point by reserving time at our Climbing Wall. This is a great recreational opportunity for both children (age 6 and older) and adults. The 34-ft. tall wall can be climbed by more than one person at a time. At a price of just $5.00 per person for two recreational climbs, the Patriots Point climbing wall is a wonderful way to add your group’s fun and activity during your visit here.

CURATOR'S TREASURES
Exclusive access to priceless artifacts
A truly 'behind the scenes' look at unique artifacts that are stored and catalogued aboard the USS YORKTOWN, but not usually accessible to
visitors. Each one-hour session will be led by one of our curatorial staff and will feature remarkable artifacts, mementos, documents,
and/or other treasures - each with its own unique story. This is a "white glove" session, in which participants wear gloves to ensure gentle
handling of the more fragile artifacts.
AIRCRAFT INSIDE AND OUT
One of the best collections of carrier-based combat aircraft in the U.S.
Take a guided tour of one of the best collections of US Navy/Marine carrier-based combat aircraft in the United States. You will get close to valuable aircraft in the hangar bay and on the flight deck of the USS YORKTOWN, visit the pilot's ready room for a short briefing, and be able to look inside, or climb inside, some of the aircraft.
LIFE ABOARD SHIP
Walk in the footsteps of the USS YORKTOWN's crew
This guided tour takes visitors through living- and working spaces of the USS YORKTOWN. You will be able to imagine what daily life was really
like decades ago for the ship's officers and crew by viewing the places where they spent most of their time: living quarters, casual work areas,
and more. This tour is truly an engaging one, and will leave you more knowledgeable about the lives of the men who served aboard the Yorktown.
MARINE EDUCATION TOUR
Marine Science of the Lowcountry
Our very own Institute of History & Science is renowned for its Education programs. But you don't need to be a student to get a behind-the-scenes
look at what makes the area around the USS YORKTOWN a dynamic marine ecosystem. Our special tour offers three rotating topics focused on our
Collection Trays Today; the Microscopic World of Plankton; and Crabs, Crabs, and More Crabs. Tours are led by our staff educators, and participants
will learn about marine animals and plants that thrive in our local coast waters.
