"The Fighting Lady," as she is known to us Navy men, is one of the aircraft carriers that traveled around the world! She's gained legendary status by causing heavy damage on the enemy in the Pacific during WWII. She also rescued Apollo 8 astronauts when they landed from the moon way before you were born in December 27, 1968 in the Pacific Ocean. And later, she starred in a few movies!

Want to feel what it was like for us Navy men on the Fighting Lady?? Visit Patriots Point - you'll begin to imagine what life was like on the ship that over 2,500 of us called home. When you're on the flight deck overlooking Charleston and the river, you'll be able to see and touch the planes we flew, where we slept, where we ate and the "ready room" where we prepared for all of our missions.
