25,000 Celebrate Fourth of July at Patriots Point

patriotspoint Sep 17, 2012

With the largest display of fireworks in South Carolina, Patriots Point has come to be recognized as the Lowcountry destination for the Fourth of July.  This year’s celebration was bigger and even better, with premiere seating on the Flight Deck of the USS Yorktown offered for the first time.

For just $10 per person, guests on the Flight Deck enjoyed special access to the museum, catered food and beverage, and live music from the East Coast Party Band and the up-and-coming group, The Explorers Club. The Flight Deck of the Yorktown also offered a front row seat to the fireworks display, which featured 8-inch firework shells shot from a barge in the Cooper River.

“We’re proud to welcome more than 25,000 people each year to celebrate Independence Day at Patriots Point,” said Executive Director Mac Burdette.  “We appreciate the generous support from the Town of Mount Pleasant and City of Charleston and look forward to making next year’s celebration even more spectacular.”
