The Heroes of Iwo Jima Symposium

March 5, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the month-long Battle of Iwo Jima that ended in March 1945.  The iconic photo of the U.S. Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima remains one of the most remembered images of World War II.  We will discuss this important battle and the impact it had on the American and allied victory in World War II.  The only surviving Medal of Honor recipient from Iwo Jima, Herschel “Woody” Williams, will be with us to discuss his memories of the battle along with other Iwo Jima survivors.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the veterans.
