Patriots Point D-Day Symposium A Huge Success

Chris Hauff Jun 09, 2014

More than 300 people came out to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day Friday evening on board the USS YORKTOWN at Patriots Point.

The Naval and Maritime Museum’s symposium featured two guest speakers, one who was onboard the USS LAFFEY the day of the attack, and an Army Ranger who landed on Omaha Beach.   Hundreds of people from across the state enjoyed the program and even stayed after so they could speak with both veterans.

Because the event was so popular, and seating was limited, a few small groups had to be turned away after the theater was full.  Those groups will receive free admission to the museum during their next visit to Patriots Point.  If you are one of those who came out to the program on June 6th, but were unable to be seated.  Please contact Chris Hauff by email at [email protected]IMG_3411 IMG_3380 IMG_3415 IMG_3424
