Scout aviators from Indiana

Waring Hills Mar 25, 2009

Troop 646 from Guilford, Indiana, spent two days and nights of  adventure on USS Yorktown, Monday and Tuesday this week. They had a great time in the aviation class and here we see them in front of the F-4J Phantom. They reviewed their lessons on the four forces of aerodynamics and the three flight axis controls of an aircraft, plus learned the story of the Navy’s only Vietnam era fighter ace, Randy Cunningham.

As you can see by the smiles on their faces (scouts and leaders) and their thumbs up (they had the Right Stuff), they had a great time and learned what a fighter pilots job was on the “Fighting Lady.”
