The newest addition to YORKTOWN's flight deck collection of aircraft, the S-3B Viking, made a grand "final approach".
With a wingspan of nearly 70 feet, the Viking becomes the largest Patriots Point aircraft as well as the first new delivery in 13 years.
The S-3B was loaded aboard a crane barge, floated down the Cooper River, under the Ravenel Bridge and into Charleston Harbor.
Gently coming along side the carrier, the Viking was lifted from the barge onto the flight deck, touching down to applause… and more than a few sighs of relief.
