Waring Hills Dec 08, 2011

Texas Governor Rick Perry speaks to a crowd in Hangar Bay III of USS Yorktown (CV-10) on 08 December 2011.

One day after the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor,  Governor Rick Perry of Texas came aboard USS Yorktown in his fight to gain the Republican nomination for President. Governor Perry talked mainly on defense issues in Hangar Bay III of the famous aircraft carrier and was surrounded by a crowd of mainly veterans. He did have some fond words for the “Fighting Lady” and you can listen in the YouTube video below from the Patriots Point YouTube site.

So far this presidential campaign besides Gov. Perry…Representative Michelle Bachman, Governor Mitt Romney and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich have been aboard this symbol of American power and freedom to press their campaign for the Republican nomination. South Carolina votes as one of the early primary states on 21  January 2012. Since 1980 the Republican who won the SC primary has gone on to secure the party’s nomination for President.
