The F-18 Hornet will be one of several planes with an open cockpit

During “Open Cockpit” days, guests are given the unique opportunity to climb or look inside many of the museum’s most historic aircraft, including the F-9 Cougar, S-3 Viking, H-3 Sea King, F-18 Hornet, and A-6 Intruder. Visitors will also have the chance to explore the H-1 Huey and CH-46 helicopters in the interactive Vietnam Experience Exhibit.

During this Open Cockpit Day we will also offer docent-guided tours of the USS Yorktown fo’c’sle. This area is not currently on tour, so this will be a great opportunity to see the anchor chains and other sites in fo’c’sle!

The cockpits and fo’c’sle will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
