INFORMAL LEARNING TO EXPAND BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Join other Homeschoolers for annual Homeschool Day Friday – 10am-noon: October 5, November 2 and December 7
Homeschool Days are back by popular demand. 90-minute program includes History and Science, and then guests may explore on their own until Patriots Point closes at 6:30pm. While you are here, also check out the destroyer USS LAFFEY and the submarine USS CLAMAGORE, as well as the Vietnam Naval Support Base on the landside. You’ll have a ‘truly historic’ day of learning and fun!
Cost: $10 per student or adult.
Attendance is limited to 200 participants per session.
THERE ARE THREE SESSIONS AVAILABLE (CLICK TO REGISTER)
Purchase a copy of ‘Oscar I Am; Harry I Was!?” and have it waiting for you when you arrive. Published by Patriots Point Institute of History, Science & Technology. This two-part book supports our onsite education programs, and features “Oscar,” an oxygen atom and “Harry,” a Civil War veteran. In Part I, Oscar tells a Science story about his trip through South Carolina’s watershed. Part II features a series of letters written by Harry and his descendants, that takes the reader through historical events, from the Civil War to today.
Ship Shape Scavenger Hunts are a proven fun and adventurous activity that allow students to see even more of the ship’s sites.
+ Add a Scavenger Hunt for just $1 additional per student during registration online
