Georgia Lottery films commercial on USS YORKTOWN

Molly Hamilton Sep 04, 2014

Today a film crew shot a commercial for the Georgia Lottery aboard the USS YORKTOWN.  The commercial revolves around the lottery mascot “Kevin” and his mission to be a Top Gun pilot.  For the morning’s film session, Kevin was actually played by a female goat, Cricket.  Decked out in her own flight suit, she seemed quite comfortable in the cockpit of an F-14.  In the story of the commercial, Kevin’s special ability is that he is a fire-breathing goat.

The film crew was quite busy on the flight deck and in the hangar bay.  Despite their bulky equipment, props, cameras and goats, museum guests did not seem to mind the added attraction.  Many of them were fascinated by the unique opportunity to see a goat in the cockpit of a fighter jet.

Though the commercial won’t air in Charleston, Georgia residents will have to report how The Fighting Lady looks on the screen.

My family and I were aboard the day this was filmed. We’re from Monterey Virginia, and were headed to Hilton Head Island on Vacation and made Charleston and extra stop on our way down. I actually have pictures of my husband and the baby goat.
    We really enjoyed our visit.
