Laffey in dry dock…

Laffey in floating drydock, AFDL-47, at Detyen’s Shipyard in North Charleston, SC. She will be fitted for a new 3/8″ bottom from bow to stern, five new bulkheads in the four machinery spaces, and new transverse/longitudinal frames and foundations in Machinery Rooms 1 – 4.

FBI returns stolen Medals of Honor to museum!

Laffey departs on schedule!

USS Laffey to depart at 0715, 19 August!

The USS Laffey is scheduled to depart the Patriots Point complex at 0715 tomorrow morning. Look for pictures and video of her departure in future posts this week.

Final preps to get Laffey and Ingham underway!

Final preps are now underway to prepare Laffey and Ingham for towing. Laffey departs next Wednesday for the Detyen’s shipyard drydock at the old Charleston Navy Base .
