Saturday morning at 8 a.m. gates open for visitors to walk aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point for our Patriot Day commemorative program. Our color guard will consist of firefighters from the Mount Pleasant Fire Department and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from the Coastal Carolina Council as  a part of Scout Surge 911.

At 8:46 a.m. a Mount Pleasant firefighter will strike Yorktown’s bell and we will observe a minute of silence. Immediately following the piper will lead the color guard and scout color bearers down the pier to hangar bay III. Our guest speaker is Captain Tom Bailey, United States Navy, the commanding officer of the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command.

After the completion of a wreath laying, attendees are welcome to tour Patriots Point.

Under “Possibly Related Posts” above is listed “On Obama’s re-branding of 9/11.” Because this is political propaganda, it shouldn’t be on this website. (This automatic generation of sites can be a big problem!)

I know what you are saying, but this is a blog and I don’t have any control over WordPress and the auto generation of related posts. Just like the real world everyone needs to decide what they will read or listen to…

    Thanks for your concern Chip!
