Vietnam Veterans Featured in “We Gotta Get Out of This Place” Music Video
Chris Hauff Nov 10, 2014Friday, November 7th Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum released a music video that features Vietnam veterans performing The Animals’ “We Gotta Get Out of This Place”. The song was one of the most requested songs by United States Armed Forces stationed in South Vietnam in 1965.

Good morning Mr. Carson. We are glad to hear you like the video. The veterans featured in the video are all men who have volunteered to help out or helped in some way as we recreated the Vietnam exhibit at Patriots Point. Most are from the Charleston area.
I landed in Vietnam,7 May 1965, with Golf Company 2nd Battalion 4th Marines ” The Magnificent Bastards” we loved that song. Semper Fi! Welcome home all who were there!
My brother was one of the Magnificent Bastards (funny, he was in a group named soemthing he couldn’t say, lol, he didn’t cuss, he would get teased for saying poop), he was in Operation Double Eagle. I keep in touch with some of the guys he served with on facebook.
