What Is the Foundation?
In large part, Patriots Point operates on admissions revenue as well as support that comes in the form of membership and contributions. Even though Patriots Point is a State of South Carolina agency, the museum receives no appropriated funding from the legislature and enabling legislation compels the museum to be self sustaining.
The Patriots Point Foundation has been pivotal in taking on the challenging task of fundraising. We invite you to visit the Planned Giving section of the website to see how you can help ensure the museum endures and grows stronger while meeting the challenge of preserving history for future generations of Americans.
Please accept our thanks for your commitment to preserve these great American treasures; the ships, planes and exhibits of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum.
The Patriots Point Foundation is the independent 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising organization whose mission is to raise funds for the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Even though Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is a state agency, it receives no appropriated funding and looks to the Patriots Point Foundation for help with projects and any other major needs outside of maintenance of the historic ships.
The Foundation is overseen by its Executive Director and Foundation Board of Trustees. All donations to the Patriots Point Foundation are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
