Projects
In 2007, our Foundation raised funds to install a handicapped elevator on the hangar deck of the USS Yorktown so that the historic aircraft carrier could be accessible by all.
For 2008, the Foundation is raising funds to build a 1,700 square-foot state-of-the-art Marine Education Center on the Yorktown to accommodate the 53,000 students who come on board each year to learn history and science from a perfect teaching venue. Our long-term capital project is to build Patriots Hall, a multi-use 20,000 square-foot facility on Charleston Harbor to be used by veterans, visitors, and the local community.
