What does it take to survive? Mark your calendars to join Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and the SC Sea Grant Consortium as we delve into the science of survival during the 2021 - 2022 Educator Science Café Series! With a focus on life science, participants will engage with experts about factors impacting survival from the smallest organisms to the entire planet. Each café will provide an opportunity to join in-person or virtual, will address S.C. State Science Standards in a cross-curricular manner, and offer a certificate of completion for 2 hours. Perfect for k12 educators, we strive to make the program applicable to a variety of grade-levels. All cafés (in-person and virtual) will be held from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Networking:
2021 - 2022 "Quarantrivia: Test Your S.C. Environmental Knowledge!"

Calling all educators! It’s time to roll out our second season of Quarantrivia – a free, socially-distanced, virtual trivia evening designed to test your knowledge on S.C.’s amazing environmental resources. No matter if you are a formal, nonformal, homeschool, or recent parent-turned-teacher, you are invited to sign up as an individual or team (up to four people) to flex your knowledge against others from across the state. Not only is the evening fun, but as educators you will have the chance to:

  • Network with educators across the state as well as members of the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina and the South Carolina Marine Educators Association
  • Access trivia questions for use with your students
  • Learn how trivia topics are aligned with S.C. State Science Standards, including life science, physical science, Earth science and chemistry
  • Contribute trivia questions for use in future competitions!

2021 – 2022 Quarantrivia Schedule
All events are held virtually via Zoom from 7:00 – 8:30 PM:
