Sailors Volunteer at Patriots Point During Days of Caring

Mayci Rechner Jan 05, 2022

Keeping Patriots Point in ship-shape is hard work. Current members of the U.S. Navy helped make sure our historic ships look their best while volunteering at the museum during Trident United Way’s Days of Caring. Days of Caring encourages groups from across the tri-county area to make a difference in the community through service.

250 sailors from the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command arrived at Patriots Point eager to pitch in and the museum’s Operations Department had plenty of tasks prepared. Sailors detailed the USS Laffey and USS Clamagore, helped with grounds maintenance, painted, and moved some heavy boxes and furniture to new locations around the property.  Thank you from all of us at Patriots Point for your efficient and dedicated efforts. You helped us check a lot of items off the to-do list before the end of the year!
