United States Declares War on the Imperial Japanese Empire, 1941

Interestingly, the United States declared war on the same date that the Japanese Imperial Navy attacked Pearl Harbor. Because of the International Dateline, the Japanese attack came on 08 December in Japan, and President Roosevelt would make his speech asking for a declaration of war from Congress on 08 December.
