Round, bronze medal depicting the USS Constitution sailing at the center of a knotted rope circle. Through the middle of the medal and behind the USS Constitution is an anchor. Along the outside of the medal is an anchor chain border around the words United States Navy.
The reverse reads Fidelity, Zeal, and Obedience along the outside of the circle.
The ribbon is solid red.

Context
Earned by Charles "Chuck" Bonness for his naval service. Charles Bonness was a seaman 2/c class aboard the USS Yorktown (CV-5) and a rear-gunner aboard an SBD Dauntless in Scouting Squadron Five (VS-5). Bonness was reported missing in action after the Battle of the Coral Sea on May 8, 1942.
