  • Marketing Manager

    This position will lead marketing projects and manage a comprehensive tourism marketing and advertising plan that establishes Patriots Point as a premier state museum and attraction. The marketing manager articulates the Patriots Point brand and leads marketing and advertising functions for revenue streams, including admission, day groups, overnight stays, and events rentals. This person assists with the development and spending of the marketing and advertising budget and is responsible for managing/coordinating marketing materials, including radio commercials, digital ads, and sales pieces. Attention to detail and brand standards is critical. This position works collaboratively with Patriots Point's marketing agency of record. The marketing manager may lead special projects as designated by the department director.

  • Events Coordinator

    Employee plans, coordinates and manages outside group events at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum as well as outlining the scope of events to include time, date and location, and budget. Responsible for planning, management, and coordination of group events at Patriots Point, to include coordination with clients, assisting them with all planning & setup details, facilitating communication with caterers, and follow-up with clients to assess customer satisfaction. In the course of these duties, the employee is the primary client contact at Patriots Point for customers and takes the lead in scheduling all facets of the event, coordinating as needed with other departments, and generating work orders and Master Calendar entries as needed. Conduct sales activity to generate new event rental bookings for the Agency. Employee will make outside sales contacts, conduct site visits for prospective clients; and attend outside business-and other networking events for the purpose of generating new venue rental leads and bookings. Coordinates with and manages the time of the Events Assistant to increase the number of incoming sales leads; accomplish outside sale calls and confirm to events clients.

  • Electrician

    Serves as the primary supervisor for the work crew responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing and providing electrical service to systems onboard the museum ship and buildings owned by PPDA, as well as the grounds of PPDA. As a working supervisor, assists, plans and assigns work to electricians responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing electrical systems onboard the museum ships, piers and landside facilities; maintaining electrical devices, controls, and wiring associated with HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, elevators, hoists, fans and other machinery; monitoring and maintaining a cathodic protection system on all ships; and troubleshooting faults in electrical 440 volt, 3 phase shipboard distribution systems, 220 volt and 110 volt systems. Supervises installation of new electrical systems throughout the complex, as needed, to replace unserviceable systems/equipment, or to expand service to new areas. Installs, tests and repairs emergency systems such as lighting, smoke alarms and fire alarms. Assists IT staff with electrical side of installing and repairing computer network and video monitoring systems. Maintains internal communications systems including standard Navy General Announcing System (IMC), telephone systems and VHF/UHF radio system. Operates sound and light systems for special functions.

  • Security Specialist

    Assists in the protection of the Agency's property and, in a courteous and cordial manner, provides information and assistance to the Agency's visitors. Assist visitors in order to maintain a safe and friendly atmosphere while at the museum. Answer questions concerning the museum and surrounding area attractions. Assist with any special-needs requirements visitors may have. Routinely inspect ships and buildings for potential hazards to employees and visitors. Report unsafe conditions. Respond to fire alarms and medical emergencies in accordance with Agency policies. Provide traffic control when necessary. Patrol assigned areas in order to help prevent vandalism, theft or unsafe actions which might lead to injury. Report any problems to the shift supervisor. Maintain logs and prepare reports as required
