The Education Department at Patriots Point strives to support educators and their students while enriching the lives of learners of all ages. Our programs and resources are based on South Carolina academic standards and cover a variety of math, social studies, science, and ELA while integrating soft skills and career exposure. The best part? Much of what we offer to South Carolina schools 3rd through 12th grade is FREE!
South Carolina School Groups
Our goal is to reach students and teachers in as many ways and in as many settings as possible, whether it be in the classroom, onsite at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, or through professional development. The Patriots Point Education Department is able to provide free programs and resources to South Carolina students and teachers thanks to funding from the Education Improvement Act.
Flight Academy
The Flight Academy is a hands-on experience that provides participants an opportunity to fly historic World War II and Vietnam era aircraft in our multiplayer simulators. We incorporate grade appropriate academic standards for ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies into flight missions that demonstrate real world applications and increase career awareness. All aircraft flown in our missions are on display at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum.
