Event FAQs:
Is there a security checkpoint at check-in?
Yes, a security checkpoint will be in place at check-in, and all items are subject to search. Any items that do not meet event guidelines must be returned to your vehicle. Please review all event guidelines/policies on this event page and our 4th of July Bash ticketing page, and allow ample time for check-in.
What is the bag policy?
Only clear bags are permitted at Patriots Point’s July 4th Blast. Small non-clear clutches (maximum size 4.5” x 6.5”) are allowed. This policy applies to all bags, including purses, diaper bags, camera bags, backpacks, etc. Bagged chairs are welcome but must be removed from bags prior to entry.
Can I bring a water bottle to the event?
Yes, water bottles are permitted; however, all bottles must be emptied prior to entry and will be checked at the security checkpoint. Water stations will be available aboard the ship for event attendees.
Are pets allowed?
Except for service animals, no pets are permitted onboard the USS Yorktown for the event. Owners of service animals should be aware that the surface of the flight deck can get very hot in high temperatures during the summer.
Will chairs be provided?
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Bagged chairs must be removed from their bags before entry.
Are coolers and wagons allowed?
No. Coolers and outside food/beverages are not allowed. Wheelchairs and strollers are the only wheeled items permitted on the ship and are subject to search.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the Patriots Point lot. Space is limited. Parking fees are not included with event tickets and must be paid separately through the Pay By Plate QR code system, based on posted rates.
Do children need a ticket for this event?
Tickets are required for guests aged 2 and older.
What food and drink options are available?
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Please check back for more details closer to this event date.
If I purchase general museum admission during the day, what time will I have to leave?
The museum will close at 3:00 p.m., with the last ticket being sold at 2:00 p.m. Only event ticket holders will be allowed to keep their vehicles parked in the lot after this time.
