The Ford Expedition, A Lowcountry Story

Presented in partnership with the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Join us on Sunday, February 28, 2026, aboard the USS Yorktown for a special Black History Month presentation with Lt. Col. Leo V. Williams!

Lt. Col. Williams III will share his story and the inspiration behind the naming of one of America's most iconic vehicles — the Ford Expedition. Drawing on his career in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and his work in the automotive industry, he'll discuss the inspiration behind the name Expedition — a tribute to the Marines’ legacy of service and adventure.
