Medal of Honor Day
National Medal of Honor Day is observed each year on March 25 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the nation’s Medal of Honor Recipients. Established by Congress, this day serves as a powerful reminder of the highest ideals of service, courage, and integrity embodied by those who have received our nation’s highest military decoration.
At Patriots Point, National Medal of Honor Day offers an opportunity to reflect on the stories behind the Medal, explore the legacy of its Recipients, and deepen our understanding of the cost of freedom. Through the Medal of Honor Museum aboard the USS Yorktown, visitors can learn about more than 3,500 heroic individuals who displayed extraordinary valor—often in the face of overwhelming odds.
Medal of Honor Day is not just a commemoration—it is a call to remember, honor, and carry forward the values of courage, duty, and sacrifice.
