Memorial Day & TAPS Across America

Dates

In 1971, Memorial Day was declared a national holiday to take place annually on the last Monday in May to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. This Memorial Day, we invite you to join us at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum to honor and remember these brave individuals. Together, let us pay tribute to their sacrifice and reflect on their enduring legacy.

TAPS ACROSS AMERICA

At 3 p.m. on Monday, May 26, the museum will take part in Taps Across America. This annual national moment of remembrance invites all citizens to pause for one minute in silent tribute, while musicians across the country perform Taps to honor fallen service members and their sacrifice.

Whether you're a professional musician or a dedicated student, we welcome you to be part of this reverent moment. Your presence and performance would play a meaningful role in helping our community pay proper respects to our fallen heroes.
