Navy 250th Anniversary Celebration & Yorktown Veterans Meet and greet
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will commemorate the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary with a special day of celebration aboard the historic aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10).
From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., join us in Hangar Bay 2 aboard the USS Yorktown for a special meet and greet with veterans of the ship. Hear first-hand stories of service and connect with the men and women who lived this history. Plan your visit, bring your questions, and help us honor their legacy!
At 12:00 p.m., a ceremonial cake cutting will take place in Hangar Bay 1 on the USS Yorktown, marking both the upcoming Navy’s 250th birthday and the enduring legacy of Yorktown sailors.
Following the ceremony, at 1:00 p.m., Mark C. Fava—author of Lessons from the Admiral: Naval Wisdom and Sea Stories for Leaders—will deliver a speech and host a book signing in the Smokey Stover Theater.
All of the activities mentioned above are included with general admission. And in honor of this occasion, Patriots Point is offering $3 off all general admission tickets purchased in person on October 11.
