Remembering 9/11

First responders will receive free admission to Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum on Friday, September 11, 2026, in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and in remembrance of those who bravely ran toward danger that day. All guests are welcome to visit the museum as a place to reflect on the service, sacrifice and patriotism shown that day.

Throughout the morning on September 11, the horn of the historic USS Yorktown will sound six times to mark significant moments from September 11, 2001. The horn will sound at 8:46 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:37 a.m., 9:59 a.m., 10:03 a.m. and 10:28 a.m., marking the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the crash of Flight 93 and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.
