The public is invited to attend to pay tribute to ‘The Ship That Would Not Die’ – the most decorated WWII-era destroyer still in existence. Starlight Pops has been a Lowcountry tradition for more than 25 years. This year’s event will begin at sundown and will feature a tribute to Broadway by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO), under the direction of Alex Agrest. The performance will include selections from Mamma Mia, Chicago, Guys & Dolls, Annie and West Side Story. This year, Lowcountry vocalist Nancy Clayton Lefter will join the CSO for several songs.

The event will be held aboard the USS YORKTOWN on Charleston Harbor at 40 Patriots Point Road, Mount Pleasant. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m., and the event at 6:45 p.m.
