Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum earned national recognition this month for the innovative new video, “Bringing History to Life.” The three-minute video, produced by Rawle Murdy, earned a bronze Telly in the Travel/Tourism Category for its promotion of overnight camping programs aboard the USS YORKTOWN.
Telly awards honor the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films, and outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. The 33rd Annual Telly Awards received over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents.
“The Tellys are well-known to video, production, media and marketing professionals around the world,” said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette. “We are honored to be recognized with such a prestigious award and appreciate the outstanding work of our Marketing Department and Rawle Murdy.”
Nationally, Patriots Point’s overnight camping program has distinguished itself as one of the top destinations for scouts and school groups. Since the inception of the program in 1980, the USS YORKTOWN has welcomed nearly 500,000 scouts representing all 50 states.
