The Yorktown Association's goal is to memorialize the history of the USS YORKTOWN in a manner that educates and inspires future generations, ensuring the future of the men and the Ship.
The Association takes our goal of memorializing the history of the Ship and men very seriously. We provide funds every year to assist Patriots Point in the development of programs to educate the many young people who visit the Ship. Programs such as the new Marine Biology Lab, the Charleston School District program to bring all the 5th Graders for a day on the Ship and the Yorktown Division of the Sea Cadets all receive our assistance. In addition we continue to assist in the constant upgrading of the Museum by refurbishing areas such as the Quarterdeck, and contributing to the installation of the handicapped elevator.
Our goal is to continue these programs and institute new ones which bring the history of the men and the Ship to life for all visitors.
For many of us the Ship and our Crew Mates defined how we developed as men. We want that same experience for the young men and women of today. For more information on how you can help create that lasting Legacy please call Todd Cummins at the Association Office, 843-849-1928 or visit

Patriots Point operates on admissions revenue as well as support that comes in the form of membership and contributions.
Even though Patriots Point is a State of South Carolina agency, the museum receives no appropriated funding from the legislature and enabling legislation compels the museum to be self-sustaining.
