Title

Realm of the Golden Dragon Certificate

Description
A World War II Realm of the Golden Dragon certificate awarded to Warren Vernon Tucker S 1/c and pronoucing Tucker to be a 'trusty Dragonback.' Following a crossing the line ceremony, this was presented to Tucker aboard the USS Yorktown (CV-10) on June 22, 1944 for crossing both the Equator (Latitude 0'0") and International Date Line (Longitude 180' 0") simultaneously.

The Navy has several ceremonies for various instances of "crossing of the line". These ceremonies are often akin to hazing or a rite of passage where uninitiated sailors undergo the tradition of joining the ranks of the veteran sailors.
