Educational Symposium: “In The Spirit of Ron McNair”

Join us as we recognize Black History Month with this symposium focusing on the life of South Carolina native, Ronald E. McNair, an astronaut who was was aboard the space shuttle Challenger when it exploded on takeoff in January 1986. The event will take place in the Smokey Stover Theater on the USS Yorktown, next to the Apollo 8 Experience that highlights the Yorktown’s own ties to NASA and the space program in the United States.

Come and hear the story of this extraordinary American from South Carolina. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. The FREE program will begin at 11 a.m. Parking and admission are free for the event.
