Register Now for 2017 Teacher Recertification Program at Patriots Point
Chris Hauff Mar 03, 2017As part of its Blended Learning Initiative, the Patriots Point Institute of History, Science and Technology (PPIHST) is excited to host its sixth annual Teacher’s Recertification Professional Development Program on board the USS Yorktown. Registration for the June 6-7 event is now open. The two-day program is designed to inform, engage and inspire educators through a series of new and exciting workshops. Teachers who attend will earn 20 recertification credits from the South Carolina Department of Education.
During the two-day teacher recertification process, Patriots Point will also host daily luncheons with guest speakers including SC Rep. Rita Allison, Chair of the SC House Education Committee.
To register, email Cindy Clark at [email protected], or call 843-971-5046. Cost is $50 and includes meals, materials and even a night onboard the USS Yorktown. The deadline to register is June 2. Please note that enrollment is limited. Scholarships are available.
Teachers tested out the Virtual Reality Space Mission at Patriots Point as part of the Recertification Conference in 2016.
