Mayci Rechner Aug 23, 2021

The USS Yorktown Foundation was awarded a grant from Tin Can Sailors Inc. The $10,000 grant will be used for restoration and preservation projects on the USS Laffey (DD-724). The work includes fantail preservation and plating, replacement of the side shell plating and replacing the smokestack cover. Patriots Point staff are currently working to complete these projects.

The USS Yorktown Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Foundation partners with Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum to inspire our children, visitors, community and the world by promoting America’s proud longstanding traditions of service, leadership, duty and sacrifice through education, exhibits, programming and community outreach.
