Veterans Day Weekend Information
Chris Hauff Nov 09, 2023Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will offer veterans and one guest free admission to the museum November 10-12, 2023 in recognition of their dedicated service and sacrifice.
Veterans Day Weekend Events:
On Saturday, November 11, visitors will also have a chance to watch as renowned artist Mary Whyte hosts a watercolor painting workshop for Veterans on the Hangar Deck of the USS Yorktown. More than 40 Veterans will learn to paint and then enjoy a painting demonstration from Mary Whyte and Stan Miller after their training. The workshop starts at 10 a.m.
At noon on Veterans Day, The Citadel’s Summerall Guards will perform a silent precision drill on USS Yorktown’s flight deck. The exercise will feature a unique series of movements that exemplifies the exactness and thoroughness with which military college trains its cadets. Viewing of the performance is included in the cost of admission.
